“…Thus Says Cyrus King of Persia…”
“Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: ‘The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and He has appointed me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever there is among you of all His people, may the Lord his God be with him, and let him go up [to Jerusalem]!’” 2 Chronicles 36:23 (AMP)
Today we come to the end of the book of second Chronicles, and we meet king Cyrus king of Persia, in our previous verses a number of kings did evil in the sight of the Lord. This led to destruction and desolation and the fulfillment of Jeremiah’s prophecy, the scripture says “Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: ‘The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and He has appointed me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever there is among you of all His people, may the Lord his God be with him, and let him go up [to Jerusalem]!’”
Today as we take a moment in our prayers, let’s continue to reverence the fulfillment of God’s prophecy, let’s reverence honoring God and being pleasing in God’s sight. Today the Lord reminds us to remain faithful to God and to the things of God for the fulfillment of His prophecy, because thus says Cyrus king of Persia!
