“…Behold, How Beautiful You Are…”
“Behold, how beautiful you are, my darling, Behold, how beautiful you are! Your eyes are dove’s eyes.” Song of Solomon 1:15 (AMP)
Today as we prepare to go into a brand new year, the Lord ministers to us about love in and through Holy Matrimony between a husband and a wife, a man and a woman through the book Song of Songs. The commentary reminds us that this entire book on love minister on two levels, one the love in marriage between a man and woman and the other is an allegory for God’s love for Israel or the church. Today our scripture allows us to experience love on a wedding day, as the husband shares, Behold, how beautiful you are, my darling, Behold, how beautiful you are! Your eyes are dove’s eyes.”
Today as we take a moment in our prayers, we reflect on the love God has for us, and His love empowers us to love others. Our verse today reminds us that we have dove eyes, to the world this means soft and gentle eyes, in the bible it means God has given us divine insight, let us remember that God’s word declares, behold, how beautiful you are!
