“…Consecrate A Fast…”
“Consecrate a fast, Proclaim a solemn assembly, Gather the elders And all the inhabitants of the land To the house of the Lord your God, And cry out to the Lord [in penitent pleadings].” Joel 1:14 (AMP)
Today the Lord leads us into the book of Joel, this prophetic book of the Bible reminds us to consecrate a fast, the scripture says, “Consecrate a fast, Proclaim a solemn assembly, Gather the elders And all the inhabitants of the land To the house of the Lord your God, And cry out to the Lord [in penitent pleadings].”
Today as we take a moment in prayer, we are reminded to consecrate a fast, we are reminded to proclaim a solemn assembly and gather to the house of the Lord to cry out to the Lord in penitent pleadings. I love the richness of our verse, how often do we consecrate a fast, how often do we proclaim a solemn assembly, and how often do we cry out to the Lord in penitent pleadings. It’s time to consecrate a fast, it’s time to proclaim a solemn assembly, and it’s time to cry out to the Lord in penitent pleadings, as our scripture declares consecrate a fast!
