Melchizedek’s Prayer
In this episode, we will experience and also learn about Melchizedek and his prayer. Melchizedek is often viewed as a mysterious but significant figure in the bible. The commentaries remind us that Melchizedek is both king and priest and he is connected with Jerusalem. Theologians remind us that Melchizedek is foundational for how Jesus occupies the office of king and priest. Melchizedek’s name means, my king is righteousness, he is as we will come to know, revered by Abraham who gives a tenth of all his treasure he took in battle against Chedorlaomer and the kings with him. In coming to understand, Melchizedek can be a mystery, but his life and presence is of great significance. His encounter with Abraham after battle provides divine insight on the significance of his life and presence, Melchizedek meets Abraham after his victorious battle and Melchizedek the king of Salem, which means peace and also Melchizedek the priest of the God Most High prays!
In this episode, we will experience and also learn about Hezekiah and his prayer. Hezekiah became King of Judah at the age of 25 and he reigned for 29 years. During this time he purified and repaired the temple in Jerusalem, reformed the priesthood, and abolished idolatry from his kingdom. He also centralized the worship of God at the temple in Jerusalem, he defeated the Philistines, and restarted the Passover pilgrimage. Unfortunately later in his life King Hezekiah became ill with a sickness of boils or inflammation, however it wasn’t until he prayed to God that the prophet Isaiah came to tell him that God heard and answered his prayer!
Prayer Room Podcast – Prayer Interview March 2022 (Pastor Daisy Udas Palabrica)
Today’s Podcast is going to be different, today we get the opportunity to visit with one our lead pastors in the Philippines, Pastor Daisy Udas Palabrica. Pastor Daisy and her late husband, a mighty man of God Pastor Elmerson Palabrica from Jesus Christ The Only Way To Heaven Church, allowed me to visit them before the pandemic on Mindanao Island for their Vacation Bible School (VBS), Youth Camp, Jesus Film and Feeding Mission. It was an amazing time in the Lord and during this time the Lord used pastor Daisy and her husband in a phenomenal way. One of the things that stayed with me, was when Pastor Daisy shared about miracles signs and wonders through prayer, as the Holy Spirit would wake her to pray during this season at 3am!
In this episode, we will experience and learn about Isaiah and his prayer. Isaiah one of the major prophets of the Old Testament scriptures, as we’ve come to know predicted the coming of Jesus Christ to save mankind from sin some 700 years before Christ was born. The prophet Isaiah brought hope to God’s people during a challenging time. He lived a life that honored and pleased God, and he prays a prayer of hope, a prayer that sustained Israel during the Assyrian’s mighty empire that dominated, controlled, and occupied. The Assyrians were thorns in the side of Israel, scripture calls them the rod of God’s anger as they were used for God’s judgement because of Israel’s idolatry and sin. The prophet Isaiah reminds us that even in the midst of challenging times, prayer brings hope!
In this episode, we will experience and also learn about Josiah the 16th King of Judah, Josiah’s name means God supports and heals. The commentary shares he set in motion religious reforms by removing worship of idol gods and that he was only eight years old when he became king. In scripture he is described as a righteous king, a king who walked in all the ways of David his father (forefather) and turned not aside to the right or left. King Josiah paved the way, set in motion religious reform for the kingdom of Israel, God’s chosen people and he did it with prayer!
In this episode, we will experience and also learn about the Prophet Joel and his prayer. Joel’s name means one to whom Yahweh is God and that is a worshipper of God. Joel is known to be the 2nd of the twelve minor prophets, it’s important to add that Joel is minor because it is short in comparison to other books of the bible, but it is in no way less important. The prophet Joel brings us into the importance of understanding repentance leads to the restoration of God’s blessings. In this instance because of Joel’s worship of God and his genuine relationship with the Lord, the Prophet Joel describes the Day of the Lord and its magnitude, the reality of this impending danger leads him to encourage prayers, fasting, and repentance, this is where we encounter the Prophet Joel in prayer!
In this episode, we will experience and also learn about Stephen and his prayer. Stephen is a disciple of Jesus, it is noted that Stephen saw Christ standing on the right hand of the Father, just before he was stoned to death for defending his faith. He was the first Christian martyr and his final words were a prayer of forgiveness for his attackers, this is where we encounter Stephen’s prayer!
In this episode, we will experience and also learn about the Prophet Nahum and his prayer. Nahum is considered a minor prophet in the Old Testament scriptures and the commentary reminds us that his poems announce the downfall of Israel’s oppressors. The Prophet Nahum shows us that God works throughout history and punishes evil and protects those who take refuge and trust in Him. We encounter the Prophet Nahum as he describes the character of God in and through his prayer, this is how we encounter the Prophet Nahum’s prayer!
A Father’s Prayer
In this episode, we will experience and also learn about a father and his prayer. The scriptures and the commentary reminds us that this father and his prayer contains reverence and belief in God’s compassion as well as God’s power. The petition is for God to deliver his child and this desperation, as well as the father’s reverence and belief cause us to encounter the compassion and power of God in and through his prayer, this is how we encounter a father’s prayer!
In this episode, we will experience and learn about Zephaniah and his prayer. The scriptures and the commentary reminds us that Zephaniah was a minor prophet a contemporary of King Josiah of Judah. His name means “God has hidden.” Zephaniah is used of God to proclaim the approaching divine judgment. The commentary reminds that he warns Israel and the other nations in the area with a burning fire as he purifies them from sin, evil, and violence. He ministers in optimism to those that have carried the burden of reproach they shall become a name and a praise and the people shall not see evil any more. This experience in God causes us to encounter this phenomenal prayer to God and in and through Zephaniah’s prayer, this is how we encounter the divine fact that our God is a warrior who saves and He rejoices over us with shouts of joy!
In this episode, we will experience and learn about Tabitha and Apostle Peter’s prayer for Tabitha. Tabitha is also known as Dorcas. The scriptures and the commentary remind us that Tabitha was a disciple of Jesus Christ who was well known for her good works and acts of charity, she sewed garments of purple and gave to the needy. We are reminded that she was a part of the inner circle in the early church, and a follower who learned from Christ. As we come into knowing more about Tabitha’s prayer, we find that she became deathly ill and it was Apostle Peter who prays Tabitha’s prayer and she is restored to life. He prays a prayer for a woman who taught us that we love others by using our gifts for God’s glory in service to those around us. Tabitha’s prayer which Apostle Peter prays brings her back to life and health in an instant and this became known all over Joppa and many came to believe in the Lord as Savior. This miracle prayer is Tabitha’s prayer which Apostle Peter prayed that led many to come to believe in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, this is how we encounter Tabitha’s prayer!
In this episode, we will experience and learn about the Prophetess Anna and her prayer. The prophetess Anna according to scripture was the daughter of Phanuel of the tribe of Asher, the scripture tells us she lived with her husband seven years and then a widow to the age of 84. She did not leave the temple area but served and worshipped with prayer and fasting. This seasoned prayer is The Prophetess Anna’s prayer which she prays after she encounters the Messiah who was being presented at the Temple, as was the custom. The prophetess in her prayer leads with praise and thanksgiving to God, as she continued to speak of Christ to all who were looking for the redemption and deliverance of Jerusalem. This is how we encounter The Prophetess Anna’s prayer!
