“…So Balaam Said To Balak…”
“So Balaam said to Balak, “Indeed I have come to you now, but am I able to say anything at all? The word that God puts in my mouth, that I shall speak.” Numbers 22:38 (AMP)”
Today, as we continue reading in the book of Numbers, we learn about Balaam and Balak. In this chapter, Balaam, a prophet, is urgently summoned by King Balak of Moab to curse the Israelites. Here, Balaam declares, “So Balaam said to Balak, “Indeed I have come to you now, but am I able to say anything at all? The word that God puts in my mouth, that I shall speak.”
As we pause for prayer today, let us be mindful to speak only what God puts in our mouths. Let us remember in our prayers that, regardless of the urgency or the demands of those in authority, we must, by God’s grace, hold firm and speak only what He gives us to say. Just as God’s word declares, “So Balaam said to Balak…”
