”…Because Your Heart Was Tender…”

“because your heart was tender (receptive, penitent) and you humbled yourself before the Lord when you heard what I said against this place and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and because you have torn your clothes and wept before Me, I have heard you,” declares the Lord.”
2 Kings‬ ‭22‬:‭19‬ ‭(AMP‬‬)

Today as we continue in the book of 2 Kings where we meet the heart of a humble and penitentiary king.  King Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and the scripture shares that he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, today we learn of him after the word of the Lord was read to him, the scripture shares, “because your heart was tender (receptive, penitent) and you humbled yourself before the Lord when you heard what I said against this place and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and because you have torn your clothes and wept before Me, I have heard you,” declares the Lord.”

Today as we take a moment in prayer, we remember that God honors a tender heart, God honors humility, and He honors repentance, let us be graced to rent our clothes, let us be graced to weep before the Lord, as His word declares, because your heart was tender!
