“…BEHOLD, I SEND MY MESSENGER…”

“As it is written and forever remains in the [writings of the] prophet Isaiah: “ Behold, I send My messenger ahead of You, Who will prepare Your way—”

Mark 1:2 (AMP)

In today’s verse we hear about what was written in the book of Isaiah and fulfilled through John the Baptist who prepares the Way for Jesus, the scripture says, As it is written and forever remains in the [writings of the] prophet Isaiah: “ Behold, I send My messenger ahead of You, Who will prepare Your way—

During the time of the Prophet Isaiah, the people needed comfort, they needed hope as a means for their repentance, renouncement of their sins , an act to seek God for forgiveness, and an act to establish a relationship with God by believing and obeying Scripture.

There is a lot captured in the essence of John the Baptist’s announcement, we find his divine purpose, destiny, and call.

So today as we in humble submission go into our prayers, what is it that God is sending us to do? what is it that God has called us to prepare the way for?

It is our new year, it is a new decade, have we taken everything to God, have we yielded our lives to Him, and are we now working on a relationship to trust and obey His Word, so that we too become messengers He Sent to prepare the way, do we live our lives so that He can indeed declare, BEHOLD I SEND MY MESSENGER!
