“…To Eber Were Born Two Sons…”

“To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, because in his days [the population of] the earth was divided [according to its languages], and his brother’s name was Joktan.” 1 Chronicles 1:19 (AMP)

Today we learn and glean from First Chronicles, scriptures that share about the genealogy of Israel. I love how the Lord leads us in His word to understand and recognize origin. Today real briefly God’s Word introduces Eber and his two sons, the scripture says, To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, because in his days [the population of] the earth was divided [according to its languages], and his brother’s name was Joktan.

Today as we take a moment in our prayers, let’s be reminded that we all do not speak the same language, and there’s a reason for that. Also let’s remember that Eber and his two sons lived in a time when the earth was divided by languages. As we go into prayer today, let’s pray for the division of languages, let’s pray that we can come together in unison on one accord through Christ, even as we prepare to celebrate Christmas all over the world, we may be divided by languages, but it is Christ that brings us together as one, because to Eber were born two sons!
