“…Behold, The Days Are Coming…”
“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God, “When I will send hunger over the land, Not hunger for bread or a thirst for water, But rather [a hunger] for hearing the words of the Lord.” Amos 8:11 (AMP)
oday as we continue in the book of Amos, he continues to remind us of God’s judgement because of sin and rebellion, our verse says, “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God, “When I will send hunger over the land, Not hunger for bread or a thirst for water, But rather [a hunger] for hearing the words of the Lord.”
Today as we take a moment in prayer, we are reminded of a time when there will be a famine for hearing God’s word, Lord have mercy if we are to live in this world without hearing the words of the Lord. There are many who recognize the divine importance of having grace and God’s Spirit that allow for hearing God’s word, but there are those whose hardened heart causes them to reject God and His word at every turn, we pray for the heart that hears the word of God and we pray for even the hardened heart. as the Lord declares, behold the days are coming!
