“…Please, Oh Lord…”
“Please, O Lord, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and the prayer of Your servants who delight to [reverently] fear Your Name [Your essence, Your nature, Your attributes, with awe]; and make Your servant successful this day and grant him compassion in the sight of this man [the king].” For I was cupbearer to the king [of Persia].” Nehemiah 1:11 (AMP)
Today as we start in the book of Nehemiah, we learn about prayer, we learn about fasting, we learn more about God, the scripture says, “Please, O Lord, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and the prayer of Your servants who delight to [reverently] fear Your Name [Your essence, Your nature, Your attributes, with awe]; and make Your servant successful this day and grant him compassion in the sight of this man [the king].” For I was cupbearer to the king [of Persia].”
Today as we take a moment in our prayers, let us not forget to as the Lord for His attentive ear, let us not forget to delight in reverent fear of God, His essence, nature and attributes as He is faithful to provide success and compassion in the eyes of man, as Nehemiah’s prayer declare, Please, Oh Lord!
