“…For John Baptized With Water…”
“For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized and empowered and united with the Holy Spirit, not long from now.” Acts 1:5 (Amp)
Today we begin in the book of Acts, this book introduces the baptism of the Holy Spirt, after the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The scripture says, For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized and empowered and united with the Holy Spirit, not long from now.
In today’s verse there are a few things to bring to heart, the fact that John the Baptist baptized with water, the fact that now those who believe in Jesus Christ the risen Lord, will be baptized and empowered and united with the Holy Spirit.
Today let’s take a few moments in our prayers, understanding that Christ has completed the work and His Spirit is now with us and within us to enable us to tell a dying world the Good News, that He Lives!
Let our prayers and our petitions reflect God’s Word, For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized and empowered and united with the Holy Spirit, not long from now.
