“…And This is Love…”
“And this is love: that we walk in accordance with His commandments and are guided continually by His precepts. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should [always] walk in love.” 2 John 1:6 (Amp)
Today we are in the book of 2nd John and Apostle John is ministering in this short chapter on truth, love, and obedience. This verse reminds us that we are to always walk in love, the scripture says, And this is love: that we walk in accordance with His commandments and are guided continually by His precepts. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should [always] walk in love.
Today as we take a moment in our prayers, we are encouraged to love the Lord God with all our heart, mind, and soul and love our neighbor as yourself (Matt 22:36-40) This is what Apostle John refers to when he says we heard it from the beginning., God encouraged us in the Old Testament in Deuteronomy 6 and Jesus re-encouraged us with this commander in the New Testament.
Today let us allow this love that we walk in according to His commandments and are guided continually by His precepts, to permeate our being, because this is the commandment we heard from the beginning, that we should always walk in love. Let us walk knowing and living, and this is love!
