“…Where Do You Come From?…”
“Then David asked him, “Where do you come from?” He said, “I have escaped from the camp of Israel.” 2 Samuel 1:3 (AMP)
Today we encounter David just before he receives the news of the death of King Saul and his son Jonathan, it’s recorded that an Amalekite, a young man brought him the news, but before receiving the news, David asked the young man, the Amalekite, where do you come from, the scripture says, Then David asked him, “Where do you come from?” He said, “I have escaped from the camp of Israel.”
Today as we take a moment in our prayers, what questions are we asking or are we asking any questions at all, today in our scripture David encounters a young man, an Amalekite who has torn clothes as in mourning, he bows low in respect to greet David with the news about King Saul and his son Jonathan. Today the question is, are you looking for the reason behind the torn clothes and the appearance of mourning or are you determining who killed Saul and his son Jonathan. Whatever the case, be sure to prepare and ask your questions in prayer, be sure to ask the questions that will render your best results, be sure and ask, where do you come from!
