“…Let There Be A Treaty Between Me and You…”
“ Let there be a treaty between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent you a gift of silver and gold; go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, so that he will withdraw from me.” 1 Kings 15:19 (AMP)
Today as we continue in the book of First Kings, the Lord leads us in scripture regarding the reign of King Asa. King Asa reigned in Jerusalem for forty-one years. The scripture says Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, and that his entire heart was devoted to the Lord. Also, our scripture leads us when it shares that King Asa offered to forge a treaty with Ben-hadad the King of Syria, when it says, Let there be a treaty between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent you a gift of silver and gold; go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, so that he will withdraw from me.
Today as we take a moment in our prayers, leading and great leadership often leads to forging treaties, treaties that honor and glorify God, treaties that cause the enemy to withdraw. Let us be mindful in our prayers, let us be strategic in asking the Lord’s guidance and direction when forging treaties, so that just as King Asa we can say, let there be a treaty between me and you!
