“…Be Careful With The Holy Things…”

“Tell Aaron and his sons to be careful with the holy things (offerings, gifts) which the children of Israel dedicate to Me, so that they do not profane My holy name; I am the Lord.” Leviticus 22:2 (AMP)

Today we continue in the sacred book of Leviticus, as I mentioned in our previous devotion, it can be a challenge to follow the ritualistic sacrifices that are expressed in detail in this sacred and holy book, but today the Lord instructs us on proper practices for handling God’s holy things, specifically His offerings and gifts, as expressed in the Amplified translation. This is a new assignment for the newly appointed, consecrated, and anointed priest of God and getting it right can be a matter of life and death, so our verse reveals God sharing with Moses, instructing him to tell Aaron and his sons to be careful with the holy things, the scripture says, “Tell Aaron and his sons to be careful with the holy things (offerings, gifts) which the children of Israel dedicate to Me, so that they do not profane My holy name; I am the Lord.

Today as we take a moment in our prayers, let’s be reminded to petition God to continue to allow us to be careful with His holy things. In humility we recognize that our carnal nature does not have the capacity or wherewithal to properly handle God’s holy things, if we think or believe otherwise then we are deceived. It takes all of God, His Word and His Spirit to properly handle His holy things, let’s be encouraged God has provided all, He enables us, to equips us, to empowers us, to endows us, to be as God’s word says, be careful with God’s holy things…
