“…May The Lord Grant That You Find Rest..”
“May the Lord grant that you find rest, each one in the home of her husband.” Then she kissed them [goodbye], and they wept aloud.” Ruth 1:9 (Amp)
Today we journey into the book of Ruth an amazing account of hardship, divine rescue and restoration. As we enter this account of scripture the widow Naomi, has lost her husband Elimelech and her two sons Mahlon and Chilion and she bids a divine farewell. The commentary says she selflessly bids her two daughter-in-laws goodbye, the scripture says Naomi spoke these words, May the Lord grant that you find rest, each one in the home of her husband.” Then she kissed them [goodbye], and they wept aloud.
Today as we take a minute in our prayers, let us always remember that often times in hardship there is often divine rescue and restoration. As we embrace this account of scripture about the widow Naomi let us always remember God is very present to provide rescue and restoration. Let us be encouraged to speak divine blessing and encouragement in our moments of hardship, sometimes in tears with a kiss and goodbye, declaring may the Lord grant that you find rest!
