“…After All He Is The Grandson Of Jehoshaphat…”
“Jehu also searched for Ahaziah, who was hiding in Samaria; he was captured, brought to Jehu, and put to death. They buried him, for they said, “ After all, he is the grandson of Jehoshaphat, who sought the Lord with all his heart.” So the house of Ahaziah had no one left to retain the power to rule over the kingdom.” 2 Chronicles 22:9 (AMP)
Today we are introduced to King Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, the grandson of Jehoshaphat who the scripture says sought the Lord with all his heart. Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king and he followed in the wicked ways of Ahab because his mother Athaliah who encouraged him to act wickedly, the scripture says, Jehu also searched for Ahaziah, who was hiding in Samaria; he was captured, brought to Jehu, and put to death. They buried him, for they said, “ After all, he is the grandson of Jehoshaphat, who sought the Lord with all his heart.” So the house of Ahaziah had no one left to retain the power to rule over the kingdom.
Today as we take a moment in our prayers, it’s important we know that the condition of our hearts towards God leaves a legacy, today we come to know more of King Ahaziah who was only twenty- two when became king and he followed in the wicked ways of Ahab. Let’s be encouraged in the Lord, let us be mindful not to follow the ways of wicked influences, let us be intentional about leaving a legacy that seeks after the Lord with all our hearts, because after all he is the grandson of Jehoshaphat!
