“….Then I Proclaimed A Fast…”
“Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river Ahava, so that we might humble ourselves before our God to seek from Him a safe journey for us, our children, and all our possessions.” Ezra 8:21 (AMP)
Today Ezra and his delegation have stopped at the river Ahava for three days and Ezra has proclaimed a fast, the scripture says Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river Ahava, so that we might humble ourselves before our God to seek from Him a safe journey for us, our children, and all our possessions.
Today as we take a moment in our prayers we continue in the book of Ezra, who has been favored by King Artaxerxes to go to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple of God. On the journey to Jerusalem to rebuild, Ezra proclaimed a fast at the river Ahava. Today the Lord reminds us that often on our journey for the Lord we must proclaim a fast. A fast to seek the Lord for safety from the enemy and for a safe journey, not only for ourselves, but also for our children and all our possessions, because as the scripture says, then I proclaimed a fast!
