“…Please, O Lord, Let Your Ear Be Attentive…”
“Please, O Lord, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and the prayer of Your servants who delight to [reverently] fear Your Name [Your essence, Your nature, Your attributes, with awe]; and make Your servant successful this day and grant him compassion in the sight of this man [the king].” For I was cupbearer to the king [of Persia].” Nehemiah 1:11 (AMP)
Today we start in the book of Nehemiah and he introduces us to another level in prayer, today Nehemiah reminds us to pray that God be attentive to His servants prayers, the scripture says, Please, O Lord, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and the prayer of Your servants who delight to [reverently] fear Your Name [Your essence, Your nature, Your attributes, with awe]; and make Your servant successful this day and grant him compassion in the sight of this man [the king].” For I was cupbearer to the king [of Persia].
Today as we take a moment in our prayers, I am encouraged to ask God to be attentive to our prayers and to be especially attentive to us who delight to reverently fear God’s name, God’s essence, nature, and attributes with awe and make us successful and grant is compassion as we honor God and the things of God, as we pray please, oh Lord let Your ear be attentive!
