“…Vanity Of Vanities…”
“Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher. “Vanity of vanities! All [that is done without God’s guidance] is vanity [futile, meaningless—a wisp of smoke, a vapor that vanishes, merely chasing the wind].” Ecclesiastes 1:2 AMP“Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher. “Vanity of vanities! Today the Lord takes us into the book of Ecclesiastes, another wonderful book of wisdom and divine insight for life. The commentary says the name of this book means preacher in Greek and the author is unknown, but it is said to be the son of King David, Solomon. The verse reminds us when it says, “Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher. “Vanity of vanities! All [that is done without God’s guidance] is vanity [futile, meaningless—a wisp of smoke, a vapor that vanishes, merely chasing the wind].
Today we honor God, we bless and we praise God because He reminds us that vanity is futile, He reminds us that vanity is meaningless. So today as we take a moment in prayers let’s be mindful to continue to seek God’s guidance, let’s be mindful to recognize vanity and flee from it because of vanity of vanities!
