“…Then The Lord Said…”
“Then the Lord said, “Because this nation approaches [Me only] with their words And honors Me [only] with their lip service, But they remove their hearts far from Me, And their reverence for Me is a tradition that is learned by rote [without any regard for its meaning],” Isaiah 29:13 (AMP)
Today we continue in the book of Isaiah and he unfolds for our lives a prophecy that I believe is still relevant today, the condition of our hearts toward God in a dying world? our verse declares, “Then the Lord said, “Because this nation approaches [Me only] with their words And honors Me [only] with their lip service, But they remove their hearts far from Me, And their reverence for Me is a tradition that is learned by rote [without any regard for its meaning],”
Today as we take a moment in our prayers, let’s be mindful and sensitive to the Holy Spirit as we rend our hearts and not our garments (Joel 2:13), knowing that more than life itself we need a heart that honors God, we need a heart ready to reverence God, because we dare not allow the rocks to cry out in our place (Luke 19:40), as the Word of God declares, then the Lord said!
