…I Weep For These Things…”
“I weep for these things; My eyes overflow with tears, Because a comforter, One who could restore my soul, is far away from me. My children are desolate and perishing, For the enemy has prevailed.” Lamentations 1:16 (AMP)
Today the Lord takes us into a brand new book of the Bible, the book of Lamentations, the book of lamenting where the Prophet Jeremiah expresses the deepest sorrow because of the destruction of Jerusalem, the scripture says, “I weep for these things; My eyes overflow with tears, Because a comforter, One who could restore my soul, is far away from me. My children are desolate and perishing, For the enemy has prevailed.”
Today as we take a moment in our prayers, let us be mindful to keep our repented heart before a loving and merciful God. Our God who keeps the enemies destruction at bay and makes sure our tears are met with comfort as our souls are restored, ensuring our children are not desolate and perishing, nor allowing the enemy to prevail. The Lord reminds us today that as we weep for these things, He is ever present, as the scripture declares, I weep for these things!
