God’s Relationship & The Levites…
For they are wholly given to Me from among the Israelites. I have taken them for Myself instead of all who are born first, the firstborn of all the Israelites. Num 8:16 (Amp)
In the text we learn of God’s relationship with the Levites, they serve under Aaron and his sons the priest. They are called to service in the Tent of Meeting (Tabernacle), consecrated and set apart unto God and Him alone (in a special sense). This is a sacred office given to the Levites as wholly unto God, for Himself, in lieu of the firstborn of Israel.
What does that mean to us today, how are we to apply the fact that just as the Levites are called to experience a special relationship with God, wholly given and for Himself, we too have that opportunity. How are we to meet the call to live given wholly unto God, as for Himself!
This text should in no way cause any believer to shrink back in their walk with God, we are all God’s Chosen vessels and living wholly unto God, for Himself should be fully embraced!
Let’s take a moment today and seek the Lord as wholly unto Him, for Himself. Let’s embrace the opportunity to experience a relationship with God, in a special sense just as He provided the Levites!
