“Then the Lord said to Aaron, “You shall have no inheritance in the land [of the Israelites], nor have any portion [of land] among them. I am your portion and your inheritance among the children of Israel.” Num 18:20 (Ampc)

What is this promise, this declaration that God has bestowed upon Aaron and his generations?
What does it mean that God is our portion and our inheritance?
Culturally, when we think of portion and specifically inheritance, we assume, we take on that which is being passed down to us from our forefathers, our parents and grandparents. But, here in this verse we find that God has singled Aaron out, him and his generations to receive God as their portion and inheritance.
Let’s take a moment in our prayers today and let our request and our petition be for the Lord to fill our lives as our portion and inheritance.
God is our portion and inheritance!
