…BEHOLD, I am Going To Send My Messenger…
“Behold, I am going to send My messenger, and he will prepare and clear the way before Me. And the Lord [the Messiah], whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming,” says the Lord of hosts.”
Malachi 3:1 (Amp)
In today’s verse we encounter the prophet Malachi in a prophecy pronounced and fulfilled in scripture, which says “Behold, I am going to send My messenger, and he will prepare and clear the way before Me. And the Lord [the Messiah], whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming,” says the Lord of hosts.
This is a divine pronouncement, it tells of Apostle John preparing and clearing the way for Jesus the Messiah, who will suddenly come to His temple. He is the Messenger of the covenant and we all delight to behold His coming!
As we take a moment in our prayers today and in this Christmas season, let us be mindful and sober about the preparing and clearing that took place, but most importantly the fulfillment of God’s prophecy.
As we celebrate Jesus’ birth this Christmas season, let’s be reminded of this divine pronouncement, let’s be reminded that we too are God’s messengers and God’s Word shall not return void. Let’s celebrate the birth of Jesus because we know, trust, and believe as scripture says, Behold, I am going to send My messenger!
