“…I am Gabriel; I Stand and Minister In The Presence of God…”
“The angel replied and said to him, “I am Gabriel; I stand and minister in the [very] presence of God, and I have been sent [by Him] to speak to you and to bring you this good news.” Luke 1:19 (AMP)
In today’s verse we encounter the archangel Gabriel and he has a message from God. He declares to Zacharias that his petition was heard and his wife Elizabeth will bear a son. The declaration behind the archangel Gabriel’s message is transcending, the scripture says, The angel replied and said to him, “I am Gabriel; I stand and minister in the [very] presence of God, and I have been sent [by Him] to speak to you and to bring you this good news.
This good news is two-fold, one to announce God’s forerunners to His Son and two to announce the coming of the Messiah, Jesus. This is great news, this is God’s ticket for all mankind to have access to eternal salvation. However, Zacharias and Elizabeth were up in age, but they both were righteous and approved in the sight of God. After Zacharias’s visit with the angle Gabriel, he was continually silent and unable to speak until the birth of his son, John the Baptist!
Today as we take a moment in our prayers, let us reflect on the use of God’s archangels who deliver His messages, God’s angels like Gabriel who stand and minister in the Presence of God.
Let’s reflect in faith and trust in God that our petitions were heard and let’s continue in prayer, so that God can send His archangels to speak to us and bring God’s Good News!
