“…Keep Your Faith…”
“keeping your faith [leaning completely on God with absolute trust and confidence in His guidance] and having a good conscience; for some [people] have rejected [their moral compass] and have made a shipwreck of their faith.” 1 Timothy 1:19 (Amp)
Today we land in the book of First Timothy, Apostle Paul is ministering encouragement and instruction to a young leader and countering false teaching, Timothy is his protege and son in the faith. According to commentary, Apostle Paul writes this letter to give Timothy practical advice about the ministry as he serves as pastor and leader in the Church at Ephesus, what would be now known in modern day as a city in Turkey. This personal letter or entire book to Timothy is part of what is known as the pastoral epistles, a handbook of church administration and discipline. So, as scripture says, keeping your faith [leaning completely on God with absolute trust and confidence in His guidance] and having a good conscience; for some [people] have rejected [their moral compass] and have made a shipwreck of their faith.
Today as we take a moment in our prayers, let’s be mindful to honor this command given to the young Timothy. We all have been given a charge as Christian believers, let’s pray and ask God to enable us to keep the faith, a gift God has given that enables us to lean completely on God with absolute trust and confidence.
Let us be mindful in our prayers to pray for others to be enabled by God with absolute trust and confidence in His guidance. Let us not take for granted the confidence we have in this gift of faith and salvation in Jesus Christ, but let us remain mindful of those God has called us to reach, so today by the grace of an almighty God, l encourage you to keep your faith!
