“..I am Writing About What Existed…”
“[I am writing about] what existed from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life [the One who existed even before the beginning of the world, Christ]—“ 1 John 1:1 (Amp)
Today we move into First John a book that diligently works to, according to the commentary dispel doubt and build assurance by presenting a clear picture of Christ. John is the Apostle whom Jesus loved (John 21:20). In this book of the Bible, Apostle John ministers, according to the commentary a model to combat modern heresies and he reveals what it means to have fellowship with God. He was an eyewitness, he had a special relationship with Christ, he faced and survived severe persecution, and at this time he was the only living Apostle and disciple of Jesus Christ, the scripture says, [I am writing about] what existed from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life [the One who existed even before the beginning of the world, Christ]—
Today as we take a moment in our prayers, let’s ponder on what it means to posses that precious gift of faith in Christ Jesus. The scripture says Apostle John got the opportunity to hear, see, looked at and touched the Word of life, Christ.
Today as we go into prayer, it is humbling and there is an overwhelming reverence because God allows us to see, hear, look at and touch, He who existed from the beginning, the Word of life, Christ!
In this day and age, there are so many that miss it, and many more who will miss this opportunity, so today let’s pray for the lost, let’s pray for those that miss it and for those who will miss it, because I am writing about what existed!
