“…These Are The Records Of The Generations of Esau…”

“These are the records of the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in the hill country of Seir.” Genesis 36:9 (Amp)

Today we take a moment to learn what the Bible tells us about the generations of Esau. This is what I call an amazing intermission, because we now come to the place where Esau and Jacob a.k.a Israel, Esau’s twin brother who stole his birthright are now no longer at odds, but they are reconciled. Also, the Lord has blessed them both tremendously and because the land could no longer support there livestock, Esau moves to the hill country of Seir, and the scripture says Esau is Edom (Gen 36:8)

So, why is it important to take a prayerful moment to reflect on the records of the generations of Esau, first because they were the first to have Kings before Israel, 2nd because they were looked down upon by Israel because they intermarried with Cannanites. However as God declared at Esau’s birth he would serve his younger brother Israel and it is understood to have proved true.

So, today as we take a moment in our prayers let’s remember the generations of Esau, Esau the father of the Edomites, and let’s remember the reconciliation between Esau and his brother Jacob a.k.a Israel who stole his birthright. If there can be a moment of forgiveness and reconciliation between Esau and Jacob, then for sure the Lord can anoint us and enable us to ensue forgiveness and reconciliation during this time when it’s most necessary, because these are the records of the generations of Esau!
