“…God Be Gracious To You…”
“And he looked up and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother’s [only other] son, and said, “Is this your youngest brother, of whom you spoke to me?” And Joseph said, “God be gracious to you and show you favor, my son.” Genesis 43:29 (Amp)
Today we get a glimpse of Joseph’s second encounter with his brothers, this chapter recaps their first encounter, Judah’s promise to keep Benjamin safe, and Israel’s concern for losing his sons and his resolve. So, today we see Joseph’s response when he encounters Benjamin his baby brother for the first time, the scripture says, And he looked up and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother’s [only other] son, and said, “Is this your youngest brother, of whom you spoke to me?” And Joseph said, “God be gracious to you and show you favor, my son.”
Today as we take a moment in our prayers, as we reflect on moments in our life of divine restoration and fulfilled prophecy, are we at a place in our relationship with the Lord Jesus, so that we can look upon our situation and declare blessings, just as Joseph, can we look and decree, God be gracious to you and show you favor my son!
Let us be mindful that God by His mercy and grace, puts us in positions of authority, positions of fulfilled prophecy to administer reconciliation and blessing, may the Lord grant you His divine grace to decree at that moment, God be gracious to you and show you favor, my son.
